Dueling Opinions

Two interesting perspectives on a panel I moderated at Arisia, offered with the simple comment that moderating a panel is an art, not a science.

From [livejournal.com profile] norda at http://norda.livejournal.com/186846.html:

Of the panels I attended, I liked the "Blogging For Writers" one the most, because it was structured and orderly, appealing to my control-freak/handler sensibilities... it was moderated by Michael A. Burstein, who seems to be my kind of tidy thinker with good work habits. It easily could have run longer, with room for more Q&A.

I did manage to catch "Blogging for Writers," which featured [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, [livejournal.com profile] nihilistic_kid , and Eric Alfred Burns, and was moderated by [livejournal.com profile] mabfan . The moderation was a bit overly-strict, and I think Nick was holding back on the sarcasm, but overall it was interesting.

Further proof that not everyone is everyone else's cup of tea. I'm a perfect example of that.

Well, you've saved me the trouble of dropping you an e-mail. Thanks again for a most enjoyable panel.
