At this very moment, the MRO is on the pad, readying for launch. You can get periodic updates by loading the NASA - Virtual Launch Control Center - MRO page, or you can watch NASA TV on your computer.
They just announced that the launch of the MRO was scrubbed, with just a few minutes left to the countdown. Sounds like something was wrong with one of the sensors.

As [livejournal.com profile] arib put it, better safe than sorry. Tomorrow's launch window is from 7:43 AM to 9:43 AM EDT.
Folks reading here may recall my post about the Flesch-Kincaid scale, and how the author of Fiction Writer's Brainstormer, James V. Smith, Jr., recommended using it for improving one's writing. (That was the post that got me slashdotted by Neil Gaiman. Err, Neildotted?)

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] affinity8 recently picked up a copy of that selfsame book, and she cites a few pieces of advice Smith gives on how to grab an editor's attention within the first 1000 words of a novel.
