Continuing from my post about the Best Fan Writer Hugo, I've decided to ask for suggestions.

In the past, people I have nominated include Bob Devney, Daniel M. Kimmel, Evelyn C. Leeper, and Steven H Silver (LJ: [livejournal.com profile] shsilver). (There have been others, of course, and if I recall any more names I will edit this post.) It was pointed out to me recently that Alan Kistler (LJ: [livejournal.com profile] justcomeinalone) should also be considered for nomination due to his Comic Book Profiles and other contributions to Monitor Duty blog.

So, given the fact that a fan writer can be someone whose work is available through electronic media, and not just fanzines, who else should I be reading for consideration?

Teresa Neilsen Hayden, though don't use my spelling of her name, of course.

Teresa Nielsen Hayden for correct spelling, I think.

Teresa's book Making Book (NESFA Press) was a Hugo nominee a few years ago; I highly recommend it. It's filled with some of her best early fan writing.

You should post this in the hugo_recommend LJ community. (Sorry, but I don't know the particular trick that would make it a link to the community.)

Having just been promoted there myself, apparently, or so I have heard...I'd be reluctant to drop in myself.

But a link from there to here would be http://mabfan.livejournal.com/307930.html if you want to do it.

I don't think it would be a problem as long as you weren't promoting yourself.

Bob Devney's currently ineligible, as he's stopped writing fanishly for a while.
