Three Things

First of all, thanks to all those who offered congratulations on the Hugo nomination.

Secondly, I've been trying to send out a new newsletter, but the majordomo software seems resistant. So it'll go out as soon as it does.

Thirdly, my computer seems to have been infected with a Word Macro virus. This is not too damaging for me, as I'm running a Macintosh iBook G4, system X 10.3, and so the Virus doesn't damage my system. But now I need to get some anti-Virus software. Anyone out there who knows the Mac have any recommendations? I found this webpage (http://antivirus.about.com/cs/allabout/tp/aamacvir.htm) which seems to have some useful suggestions.

Virex is not a terrible choice. The best way to get it is probably to sign up for a year of .Mac from Apple ($99), which also gets you miscellaneous other stuff, some of it even useful. (There's a backup program, for example.)

I originally wasn't planning to sign up for .mac, but the backup stuff does seem useful. As it is, the folks at work are going to run a Norton antiVirus for me tomorrow, so hopefully that will be a good first step.
