I just want to point out to people that as I post this, the Cassini probe is less than eight hours away from inserting itself into orbit around Saturn.

For more information on the mission, check out http://saturn1.jpl.nasa.gov:80/home/index.cfm

And return again and again. We'll be getting a lot of good data, plus pretty pictures.

The next few hours are likely to be the most nervous that NASA has seen in ages, as first comes the risky (foolhardy?) spacewalk to stabilize the ISS, and then comes the deorbit burn of Cassini. There is much potential for mishap for both, though Cassini's biggest worry is simply a chunk of ring-matter.

Hopefully, all will go well and by this time tomorrow we will have some amazing photos of both Saturn and Earth.
