The second issue of Polu Texni is now up, featuring my short story "Collapse." This is somewhat of a departure for me, and I'm curious about the reactions of my readers.

The issue also features a short interview with me as well.

Great story, Michael. It seems to me that there is an increasingly Malzbergian feel to the story as it progresses along. I really enjoyed it. Interesting interview, too. (I'm also working my way through Wake and Marsbound.) Happy New Year!

That's a sad little story that sort of sneaks up on you - thanks for the link.

Michael-

I enjoyed the story. The pacing was nicely done. I've had "blueshift" days, but fortunately the universe returned to normal on schedule....

...and let me guess. The astronomy professor Michelle Haller is blond, outgoing, intelligent, and unflappable. Right? :-)

Thank you! I wasn't aiming for Malzbergian, but I'll take any compliment I can get.

Me likey. Except for the part where lawyer-brain doubted the plausibility of the suitcases-in-the-yard scenario. Otherwise: me likey much.
