Life Update
Sep. 12th, 2005 08:31 pmAs anyone reading here knows, my "writing year," so to speak, is coming to an end. It's been a productive year. Since last September, I haven't had a job. Instead, I've been working as a full-time writer. During the past year, I managed to produce a few short stories, a novella, an article or two, and a novel-length manuscript. I'm in the final stages of editing that manuscript, but it is time for me to going back to work.
That doesn't mean I'm not going to keep writing, of course. However, Nomi and I had a plan, and the plan included my going back to work once the writing year was over.
I am delighted to announce that starting next Monday, I'll be an Associate Editor at a science textbook publisher here in the Boston area. I would be lying if I said that I won't miss the flexibility that writing full time brought to my schedule. But, on the other hand, I'm very excited about my new job. It fits my skill set perfectly, and it allows me take my teaching from the retail level to the wholesale level, as I like to put it.
