I am delighted to report that one of my dearest friends, whom I've known since we were about twelve years old, has just won the Edgar Award! Charles Ardai won for his short story "The Home Front," which appeared in the anthology Death Do Us Part.

Knowing Charles as I do, I can say that it is very much a story based on his own interest and obsessions. I'd rather not go into any more details, except to encourage all of you to track it down and read it. You'll be glad that you did, especially if you're a fan of noir fiction.

That's great. I remember the story "Nor Through Inaction" that you and he co-authored in ANALOG a few years ago. It was one of my favorite stories I read that year.

Thank you! That's nice to hear.

And as you can see, I figured I might as well use Charles's win to plug that story again... :-)
