Since I grew up as a Mets fan, and not a Red Sox fan, I don't believe in jinxing it by anticipating a win. I had this post all set to go for the five minutes or so before the game ended.

But I didn't tell [livejournal.com profile] gnomi. She would have freaked. :-)

Frell!

And the Bombers lost A-Rod.

(Dear me, I'd stick around for ten years for $252 million.)

Losing A-Rod is a good thing. Haven't you noticed yet that he's cursed?

He leaves the Mariners, and they get better while Texas stinks. (Okay, they already did, but they stunk more expensively.)

He goes to the Yankees, and they win the World Series exactly 0 times while he's there.

Ah --- you make an excellent point.

Perhaps they will spend the $252 mil on mid-innings pitchers.... :)

Very happy for all the Sox fans (fen?). I had no illusions about the NL fielding a team in the Series that could beat the dominant AL team this year. With the collapse of the Mets, I saw the Sox winning as a foregone conclusion. May you all enjoy your tickertape.
