Janna is in town to attend the World's Fair of Money, a convention run by the American Numismatic Association that happens to be in Boston this week. We met Janna through science fiction circles, and through the wonders of the Internet, have been able to stay in touch even though she lives on the other side of the country. (I even helped her with a story once.) We last saw her in person in 2004, when she came to Boston for Worldcon. We had once considered taking a trip to Seattle to visit her, but around that time Nomi became pregnant and we moved, so taking an extended vacation was just no longer an option.

Janna came over, and we got food from Taam China for dinner. We sat, we talked, we played with the kids, and three hours went by. Then it was time for us to put the kids to bed and for Janna to leave.

So it's been six years since we saw Janna in person. We're hoping we won't have to wait until 2016 to see her again.
