Solar Sails

He notes he first heard of them on DS9; always a good show. I seem to recall reading Arthur C. Clarke's "The Wind from the Sun" as my first discovery of the concept.

I remember, as a kid, watching my father sit at the kitchen table sketching out rigging concepts for solar sails. He was trying to figure out ways to be able to rig solar sails to allow tacking and, y'know, SAILING.

I don't know if he managed to figure anything good out; I'll ask him when I see him tomorrow.
