Seen it already (someone on weirdjews posted it). I'm not really sure what to make of the whole thing. Feel vaguely uneasy about it though.

There are two reasons for modern Jews to feel uncertain about this. First off, most of Judaism, for hundreds of years, has actively discouraged proselytizing for the simple reason that, historically, it can get you imprisoned, tortured, or killed. Second, of course, is uncertainty towards the motives of someone who admires Jews. As a culture, we have a deep and wide self-confidence complex, as demonstrated in the couldn't-he-have-chosen-someone-else mentality.

I'm with the member who complained that there is a REASON Jews pay for membership at JDate: specifically to narrow their search down to like-minded Jews. Willing to convert is one thing, that says the person already has some interest in the Jewish faith, and I've got no problem whatsoever with people who want to convert. But I hate the idea that we have freaking groupies who just want to hook up with Jews because they have some ridiculous notion we're nicer or smarter or can do their taxes, sort of like people who try to score dates with African Americans to prove they're not racist.
