Shabbat, Molasses, and LJ

So last night I found myself having a lot of trouble getting to sleep. I ended up staying awake until 2:30 AM or so, and I had no idea why.

Until gnomi and I saw farwing at around noon, and she told us that LiveJournal was having major power issues. It suddenly hit me why I couldn't get to sleep last night.

I felt a great disturbance in the force...as if millions of voices cried out in pain and were suddenly silenced.

Of course, we're back now.

Remember yesterday how I reminded you all that today is the 86th anniversary of the Great Boston Molasses Flood? Well, gnomi and I went to shabbat lunch today at the home of sethg and lucretia_borgia; they had also invited farwing and arib. And in honor of the anniversary of the flood, they served a molasses-themed meal. We had molasses bread, salmon over Thai noodles with molasses vinagrette, and gingerbread molasses cake for dessert.
