What We Did On My Birthday

mabfanFirst of all, I'd like to thank all the people who wished me happy birthday, whether on LJ, by card, e-mail, over the phone, etc.

gnomi and I had decided that we needed today to be productive. We've been dealing with a high level of clutter in our apartment, and we'd really like the place to be less cluttered. Fortunately, we have a storage unit in the basement of the building, and we had already placed some of our books in boxes, but with her knee and my back it's hard for us to move things around.
So today,farwing and magid volunteered to come over and help us deal with the clutter. Magid was only able to stay for a few hours, but farwing stayed for a few more. They helped us break down a bunch of boxes in the living room and in the storage unit, and farwing carried those heavy boxes downstairs to put into storage. We've got a lot of space back, but there's still more to go before we'll feel like it's really done.
I want to thank both magid and farwing for the birthday present of helping us clean. To celebrate, we fed them a delicious chocolate cake that Nomi had made. You can find the recipe at http://www.asknomi.com/chococake.html.
Nomi and I will spend the rest of the evening cleaning until we feel ready to collapse. At which point we will.
